Rains Move In, Wash Out ABC Action! By Nick Gima

May 29, 2004; Ashland, WI: - Wet weather that forced many northwestern Wisconsin race tracks to postpone their programs waited until the last moment to do the same in Ashland, bringing about the second rainout in as many weeks at the ABC Raceway Saturday night.

    Over the course of the previous week, several area individuals put in over 200 man-hours to get the track into race shape, after the new clay added last fall failed to settle. The Ashland-Bayfield County Racing Association expresses its sincerest appreciation to Bob Korpela and Jerry Zifko for their outstanding and selfless efforts, and to Northern Clearing
for the use of its equipment and personnel.

    Racing action continues Saturday, June 5, with Little Caesar's Pizza Kids' Night and Meet the Drivers Night. Hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 pm; "Racenight Live" will air on WJJH, 96.7/102.3 FM, with up-to-date track news and weather information from 5-6 pm.
